Just Living The Dream

by Heather Swint

Even if you know what your dream is in life, sometimes it’s hard to know how to follow it. Most often, we do things, even stupid ones, just so we can reach what we want, and we get criticized for it. But never mind other people; you are just living the dream. Here are some steps you can follow.

Number one: Recognize that your dream should have a priority in your life. . One of the biggest challenges in trying to accomplish any personal goal is that we tend to put them off until tomorrow, or next week, in favor of more pressing matters at work and at home. We all have multiple things to focus on in our lives, from school or work to family to errands to various goals and commitments and hobbies and civic activities. If we put all these focuses before our one goal, we won’t ever find the time for our goal. There’s only so much time in a day. At some point, we’ve got to prioritize, and if we make our goal our top priority, we’ll make the time.

Number two: Move yourself forward a little each day. The most worthwhile goals are ones that take time to accomplish, and for those, you’ll need to make it part of your daily routine. It’s better to move forward a little at a time and then take advantage of times where you can make bigger strides.

Number three: Find a way to use your dream to help other people. This makes the dream bigger than just you and can motivate you to keep going when you wouldn’t have otherwise.

Remember, you are just living the dream. Have your wishes come true and your desires satisfied. At the same time, transform your life into one of love, happiness, joy, and success. Copyright © 2010 Goal Setting Tips. All Rights Reserved. | Privacy Policy

Achieve Your Personal Goals

Without personal goals, life can be an aimless journey lacking positive direction and achievement. Setting personal goals is easy, but what can you do to give yourself the best chance of achieving your goals? If you want to achieve your personal goals, you must take time to follow these simple steps.

Number one: Consider what you want to achieve in your lifetime as setting lifetime goals gives you the overall perspective that shapes all other aspects of your decision making. Your personal goal setting can be in these areas – attitude, career, education, family, financial, health, and social. Number two: Make sure that the goal you select best reflects what you want to do. It has to be something you really want. Ask yourself why you want to achieve this goal, and how much you want it. Figure out your motivations.

Number three: Start now. One of the biggest challenges in trying to accomplish any personal goal is that we tend to put them off until tomorrow, or next week, in favor of more pressing matters at work and at home. If you want to accomplish a goal, you have to start on it today. Number four: Keep it simple. It’s important not to make your personal goal too complicated. Also, do not take on too many goals at once. For now, focus on one goal at a time.

Number four: Be precise. Set a precise goal, putting in dates, times and amounts so that you can measure achievement. If you do this, you will know exactly when you have achieved the goal, and can take complete satisfaction from having achieved it.

As a summary, I would like to quote Henry Ford when he said that “obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal”. Determine what you want, make an action plan now, work on it, and soon, you will achieve your personal goals in life. Copyright © 2010 Goal Setting Tips. All Rights Reserved. | Privacy Policy

Goal Setting Activities

No matter what type of business you operate or plan to operate, there always needs to be clear goals in mind. Goal setting is not a complicated process. Often, it merely involves looking at where your business is at the present devising where you want it to be and then drafting the necessary plans to get there. Here, then, are four goal setting activities.

Number one: Set your goals and create a written contract. Goals may be long-term, medium-term, or short-term. In setting goals, always begin with the long-term and work backwards. Besides, long-term goals are probably the most difficult to set. Three areas that you may want to consider when setting long-term goals are your personal accomplishments, status symbols, and net worth. Once you have formulated your goals, it is time to make your final commitment to them by putting them down in writing. This is undoubtedly the single most important step in goal setting because until they are inscribed somewhere, they are merely wishes and dreams.

Number two: Ask yourself why you want the goal. Remember that in setting goals, you have to choose the ones that you genuinely want to achieve. Make your goal your own, and remain true to yourself.

Number three: Put in all the details. Create a list of all the different things you need to do in order to reach your goal. . The most effective goals are designed so that you know the goal, the date by which you will achieve it, the quantity by which you will measure it, and how it will change your life. Remember that a goal without a measurable outcome is just a pipe-dream.

Number four: Share your goals with a trusted and supported resource. Doing this will provide you with motivation and encouragement, and will help you to achieve your goals. Copyright © 2010 Goal Setting Tips. All Rights Reserved. | Privacy Policy

Smart Goal Setting Method

What is the SMART goal setting method? Read on and find out.

Goals give you three distinct advantages, which help you succeed. First, they keep you on track. Second, they let you know when and what to celebrate. Third, they give you a focused plan to work with. If nothing else, goals let others know what they have to aim for to keep up with your standards. In setting goals, keep in mind the following guidelines: Your goal must be conceivable, believable, and achievable. It should be consistent with your personal values system, and you must believe that you can reach the goal. You must have the mental and physical capacity to reach the goal, too. That is why goals must be SMART – specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-bound.

Specific – You are more likely to follow through on a specific goal than a general goal because it is clearly defined. Specific goal setting helps you to focus clearly on exactly what you want to accomplish and how you will do it. Measurable – If a goal is measurable, then you will know exactly when you have accomplished that goal. Establishing specific criteria for reaching a goal allows you to determine how close you are to reaching that goal and be motivated by your own progress.

Attainable – Set goals that are proportionate to your capabilities and resources, and those that are within your control. If you set goals that are outside of your control you are just setting yourself up for failure. Realistic – Your goals should be just out of reach, but not out of sight. You want to stretch to be your best, not strain after impossible dreams. Time-bound – Deadlines help you to determine how much time you have left to achieve a goal and prevent you from procrastinating.

When you practice the SMART goal setting method, you’ll have an easier time staying on track with your personal life goals. Copyright © 2010 Goal Setting Tips. All Rights Reserved. | Privacy Policy

5 WAYS TO SECURE AN INTERVIEW

You all have certain goals in life, and even without knowing it, you are striving to reach those goals by implementing some form of action plan. Once your goals are clearly defined, you can begin to work towards them. The thing is, you’re often so anxious to reach your goals that you want to start at the finish line. And so, now, I’ll teach you how to start at the very beginning.

First: Believe in yourself. Believing in your self is the key to almost everything. Having the positive perspective towards things will keep you motivated and will draw what’s positive in what you are planning to do.

Second: Think about the process to reach your goal. Planning ahead is important, especially when you are trying to reach a specific goal. It’s very important to visualize each of the steps needed to reach your goals. Imagine your self doing these steps and living each instant of them.

Third: Visualize your steps before going to bed. Our subconscious mind is very powerful, and having specific goals helps to channel that subconscious mind into working towards that goal.
Fourth: Strive hard towards reaching your goal. Your goals won’t happen overnight, they also won’t happen without work. You will have to overcome many obstacles before you reach your desired goal. There are always people who will work against you or technical hurdles you will need to overcome. But through it all, never ever be discouraged. Instead, be patient and remain motivated. Let those obstacles push you into working even harder and into giving your best in everything you do.

Fifth: Find help. Don’t be shy to talk to people about your new goals and how you plan to achieve them. Other people’s insight can be very important and can help skip a few steps. You can use other people’s experiences to learn quicker and to get by some of the steps.
Start where you are and work towards reaching your goals. Copyright © 2010 Goal Setting Tips. All Rights Reserved. | Privacy Policy

Setting Personal Goals

Personal goal setting is especially important when you are operating your own business. Because your business will have an impact on every other area of your life, it is critical to consider how it affects your life and your own goals. Defining and aligning your business objectives and your personal goals in life will help you focus and set appropriate priorities.

Setting personal goals is easy, but what can you do to give yourself the best chance of achieving your goals? Here are some simple steps.

Number one: Identify your goal by writing it down. Once you have formulated your goals, it is time to make your final commitment to them by putting them down in writing. This is undoubtedly the single most important step in goal setting because until they are inscribed somewhere, they are merely wishes and dreams.
Number two: Set a time frame for accomplishing it. Deadlines help you to determine how much time you have left to achieve a goal and prevent you from procrastinating.

Number three: List what you need to do in order to achieve the goal. Also, identify who and what you will need to work with to reach your goal. In order to develop an effective action plan, it is best that you state your goal in very specific terms that are acceptable to you. Number four: List the skills and knowledge required to reach your goal. Number five: Write down the steps you will follow. Put your plan on paper and into action as soon as possible.

In setting career goals, your goals must meet certain criteria for them to be achievable. They have to be conceivable, achievable within a certain time frame, believable, flexible, and clearly defined. You must know exactly what your goal is, and be able to put it into words.

    The Truth About Successful

Home Based Business Claims; Are They Real or is it Just a Marketing Technique? by Mark Wilcox in Careers (submitted 2010-03-14)

Looking through the classified ads in the newspaper, surfing the web, or thumbing through a magazine at the doctors office they seem to be everywhere. The claims that individuals have made thousands or even millions of dollars seemingly overnight with virtually no effort all because of the Home Based Business that worked for them and it can work for you too. These ads are placed with pictures of fancy cars, huge homes with sparkling blue swimming pools surrounded by a tropical paradise, or even pictures taken in front of the Eiffel Tower, or executive types playing golf on a luxuriant green golf course. Are these things their actual reality, or is it all just a ploy to lure you into joining their team in the hopes of having the luxury cars, the elegant home and the exotic trips?

Yes there is a lot of hype in some of these ads, but there really are very successful people in theInternetMarketing Industry. Being a successful entrepreneur is just like any other profession, it takes time, money and effort. Bill Gates did not wave a magic wand and produce Microsoft, and Donald Trump did not make a million dollars on his first real estate transaction. Building a successful Home Based Business is very much the same way. All successful businesses require a positive attitude and mindset, (a lottery mindset will likely fail every time). It also takes persistence and good work ethics. Without these things failure of your Home Based Business or any business for that matter is undoubtedly on the horizon.

Successful entrepreneurs understand what it takes and what is needed to become successful because they themselves have started from the ground level and earned a top spot in the industry. The most important thing to remember is that a Home Based Business is just that a "Business". If you perceive it as a business and acquire the tools and knowledge required to build it, then there is a very good chance that success of your Home Based Business is on the horizon.

Now building a successful Home Based Business is actually a fairly simple process provided one has the correct tools and technical support necessary, and there are models out there that provide just that. These are generally the models that have a small to moderate start up cost, and perhaps even small to moderate membership fees, but just remember the old saying "you get what you pay for". The start up cost alone of a traditional "brick and mortar" business can be mind numbing and monthly operation costs can be in the thousands of dollars, whereas the cost of starting and operating a Home Based Business can be very low and affordable.

If building a Home Based Business seems intriguing then a model that has a specific program with an abundance of tools and training available to assist in every step of the building process is what should be looked for. Also take into consideration any inventory that may be required to purchase. Many companies that require you to buy inventory may not provide the tools and training that are needed to build your business which leaves you with product that you must figure out how to sell and distribute on your own.

In short, when looking for a model with which to begin building your Home Based Business, one with a step by step program which includes all of the tools and support necessary with a small to moderate start up cost, and little or no inventory to buy is ideal. They are few, but they are out there. I can say this with confidence because I have found one and am having success building my own business.
